Christmas greetings: Through Postage stamps

I loved the idea of using Postage stamps from around the world to share Christmas greetings. The collection included, The Americas and the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and beyond.

Christmas Display as an idea

Furthering my exploration of stamps during Black History Month, I decided to look at Christmas greetings through stamps from around the world. What a selection did I unearth.

History through the ages

To whom it may concern

As an interesting touch I created little envelopes addressed to the stamp recipients.

Stamping a Mark on History: Africa and the Disapora Through Postage Stamps by Lily

In recognition of Black History Month I explored history through Postage stamps.
The selection included scientists, musicians, actors, writers, explorers etc.

Trainers: An Exploration through Sports and Popular Culture - Equality of Style and Purpose, Curated by Lily

Here we take a moment to explore the trainer, the athletic shoe, which has risen from the humble plimsoll to iconic status as unique works of art; and statements for the feet.

Whether as sneakers, kicks and ya tins or simply running shoe; they are amazing feets of design transcending: age, culture and gender - the perfect integrationist.

The display does not seek to chart the evolution of the trainer but simply to show appreciation for an item with a global reach which is for the people; by the people.

The Feminine side of Money

Banknotes display an interesting window upon the financial world of a society. Most of us simply use a note without delving any deeper but here I took a visual meander around the world.

Exploring the Female presence on Banknotes

In celebration of Womanhood during the month of March I chose to explore the female presence on banknotes in a library display.  Many stopped by to peruse the wide array which crossed continents, all were genuine, some in current circulation; others long since obsolete; all fascinating.
