Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - crossing cultures and languages

Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland celebrates its 150th anniversary. What better reason than that to create a display…so that's what I did.

Alice under attack

Here are just some of the selection of eye-catching book covers I came across - they traverse continents, highlighting a variety of cultures and designs.

To Begin With...

My initial thoughts

At a local library I created a display to celebrate the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the famous novel written by Lewis Carroll. I decided to highlight the essence of Alice and some of the interesting characters and symbols found on the pages of the popular work. Not interested in simply showing Alice in her entirety; I thought the striped tights would be a more eye-catching feature to focus upon surrounded by some characters and popular objects. Shown above is the first mock I did, which includes some well-known elements.

It's always interesting where I start and where I finish.
